Giving

NKT provides a riding therapy program without the support of government funding.  As a non-profit 501(c)(3) group, the programs at NKT have been sustained by the generosity of service groups, businesses, corporations, and individuals like you.

The long term future of NKT depends on larger financial donations and bequeaths for capital improvements and for endowment funds.  Future needs and capital expenditures include purchasing property, building an indoor arena, expanding the riding programs, providing office and classroom space and trailer storage.  An indoor arena is especially needed as it would protect our riders from being affected by inclement weather and would allow the riding season to be extended several months. All of these improvements would enhance NKT and provide the capability to offer more classes to the schools and community.

Your donations are used in a variety of ways.

$5,000 Helps ensure the long term future of NKT and capital improvements
$4,500 Vehicle  maintenance and expense
$4,000 Insurance
$1,500 Instructor training
$1,000 Special Olympics
$250 Postage for one issue of the newsletter
$150 For 1 month's phone expenses
$75 Port-a-Potty rental for one month
$30 Office Supplies

Fundraising events throughout the year help supplement the many expenses incurred in the programs NKT offers.  In order to meet the needs of riders we charge only a minimal amount for the classes they participate in.  That is why donations are so important to NKT.  Without support from donators we would fall short of the estimated $96,000 per year operating budget we currently have.

Our annual expenses include:

Hay
Insurance
Postage and Mailing Fees
Grain
Phone Expenses
Special Events
Supplements
Gasoline for farm vehicles
Horse Shows
